Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Design & Release Engineer for Exterior Lighting in Auburn Hills, MI. You will develop and validate lighting systems such as headlamps and taillights, working with optical, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.

You’ll lead design optimization, perform DVP&R testing, and collaborate with suppliers to bring concepts to mass production while meeting regulatory and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 0–5 years in automotive engineering with design, testing or release exposure.
• Internships in lighting, electronics or automotive components are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design exterior lighting components (3D/2D modeling, NX/CATIA/SolidWorks).
• Plan and execute DVP&R and validation against specs.
• Collaborate with optical and electrical teams to integrate lighting systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers during prototyping and release.
• Support DFMEAs and PFMEAs for risk mitigation.
