Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking an Experimental Test Technical Specialist 3, Level 5 engineering, onsite in Savannah, GA. You will lead complex testing, translate requirements into test strategies and data, and provide technical direction to engineers and technicians across mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing.

You will drive test execution from concept through results, develop standards, mentor staff, and identify improvements to laboratory methods and processes,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 13 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience.
• Experience translating requirements into test concepts, designs, procedures, hardware, and data for mechanical/structural/material/environmental testing.
• Experience developing test plans, procedures, reports, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Strong communication and customer coordination skills; ability to mentor engineers and technicians.
• Demonstrated problem solving and initiative to improve engineering processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related Office applications.
• Experience with external engineering customers and providing technical direction.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex experimental test projects of major complexity within scope.
• Translate requirements into test concepts, designs, procedures, hardware, instrumentation, and data.
• Develop test plans, procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Apply advanced engineering principles to mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing.
• Make technical decisions with broad impact on engineering activities.
• Provide technical direction to customers and engineers.
• Develop improved test methods, standards, and practices to optimize technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and promote safe test practices.
