Job summary

Advanced Home Services is a residential service company seeking a Lead Excavation Installer to oversee underground piping, utilities, and drainage systems. You will operate heavy equipment and mentor apprentices, ensuring work is completed safely and correctly from the first cut to final inspection.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of excavation/utility experience, solid leadership and blueprint-reading skills, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4+ years of experience in excavation or underground utility installation, including leadership or crew lead responsibilities.
• CDL strongly preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead excavation crews in the safe and efficient installation of underground piping, utilities, and drainage systems.
• Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, including excavators, trenchers, and skidsteers.
• Ensure accurate trenching, grading, backfilling, and compaction per project specifications.
• Install underground piping, conduits, and related systems in compliance with state and local codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and site plans to guide installations.
• Train, mentor, and support apprentices and technicians to develop their skills.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy, safety, and quality standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers about job scope, progress, and site conditions.
