Description
Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations, acquiring and maintaining product knowledge, serving, demonstrating, intercepting consumers, and selling products in a professional manner. The role also includes managing event‑execution equipment in the store and maintaining overall professional appearance.
Responsibilities
- Management and maintenance of equipment and supplies used for events.
- Communicate with store management about upcoming and past events when supervisor is absent.
- Act as the point person for all events in the store when supervisor is absent; assist other Event Specialists as needed.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team.
- Gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
- Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell products to consumers.
- Assist/perform all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program.
- Communicate product features and benefits effectively.
- Prepare and serve food samples in compliance with food safety guidelines.
- Use small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives to prepare samples.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation with cleaning chemicals.
- Set up and prepare the event table for execution.
- Complete all assigned work.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports per company policy.
- Prepare and submit online requirements on the day of execution.
- Take digital photos of the “Perfect Table Setup” to document success stories.
- Report all employment‑related injuries to supervisor as soon as possible.
- Work no more than 25 hours per week (subject to change).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months of related experience.
- Proficient use of a personal computer and mobile device with applications and internal systems.
- Food Safety Professional Certification and local food handler permit if required.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb (occasionally 50 lb), push/pull demonstration cart, climb a 6‑ft ladder, and perform kitchen tasks.
- English proficiency; bilingual skills may be required.
Working Conditions
- Retail store environment with limited travel.
- May involve contact with cleaning supplies and live food items.
