Job summary

South Coast Botanic Garden is seeking a Lead, Event Operations to oversee the day-to-day working leadership of the Event Operations team and coordinate setup, strike, movement and storage of garden assets for events.

The role collaborates with the Manager, Assets & Event Operations to translate plans into clear execution, supervise staff, and ensure quality and safety standards while supporting garden programs, rentals and exhibitions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in events, operations, logistics, facilities, hospitality, attractions or a related field.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide clear work direction and coordinate multiple employees and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event setups, strikes, room changes, equipment deployment and other operational logistics.
• Review event layouts and work orders, translating them into clear assignments for the Event Operations team.
• Ensure operational activities are completed safely, accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor setup quality and verify layouts and spaces meet specifications and standards.
• Lead and support event operations staff, providing training and coaching as needed.
• Foster a service culture focused on guest experiences and organizational priorities.
