Thompson Pipe Group seeks an Estimating Engineer for Steel & Concrete Pressure Pipe to develop comprehensive cost estimates for large water transmission projects. You will review plans, flag scope gaps, and work with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

You will produce estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and outside services, while testing numbers against historical data and production costs.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years estimating/engineering/project management/manufacturing experience in pressure pipe industry or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Develop detailed cost estimates for steel pipe, concrete pressure pipe, fittings, fabricated components, and special products.
• Review drawings, specs, bid documents, and contract requirements to define complete scope.
• Build estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, purchased components, outside services, freight, and special project requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to understand design and fabrication methods and cost impacts.
• Identify missing scope, conflicts, unusual requirements, and risks prior to bid submission.
• Evaluate alternate designs, manufacturing methods, materials, and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain current cost data and leverage historical data to improve accuracy.
• Partner with Sales on project/market strategy to shape estimating approach.
• Coordinate with Operations/PM when capacity, scheduling, or contractual issues affect the estimate.
• Continually improve procedures, tools, cost databases, and estimating standards.
• Produce accurate estimates from conceptual drawings through final documents.
