Job summary

AssetGuard Products, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive bids for spray-applied polyurea coatings projects.

You will own the estimating process from bid review through site assessment, takeoff, pricing, and proposal, coordinating with operations to ensure profitability. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating in industrial coatings, hands-on coating experience, and proficiency with Excel and takeoff tools, with 10–25% travel and OSHA-ready

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent field experience.
• 5+ years estimating experience in industrial/coatings work, 3+ years specifically with polyurea or spray-applied coatings.
• Hands-on coating applicator/foreman/project manager background.
• Experience with water, wastewater, or irrigation infrastructure projects.
• Certifications such as AMPP Coating Inspector, ASPE, CPE, AACE, CEP, CCT OSHA.
• Familiarity with drone or laser measurement tools for site documentation.
• Experience estimating concrete/steel substrate prep and coating on infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specs.
• Proficiency with Excel and digital takeoff software; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong math, organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 10-25%; valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 10/30, confined space, fall protection training or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Review bid packages, drawings, specifications, and scopes to determine requirements and risks.
• Travel to project sites to take measurements and assess conditions.
• Perform area-based takeoffs and convert to material requirements.
• Estimate surface preparation and related costs.
• Develop labor, equipment, and crew costs using production rates.
• Obtain and compare pricing from manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Account for mobilization, scaffolding, confined space, and weather constraints.
• Verify compliance with NSF/ANSI 61, AMPP/ICRI standards, and warranty/code requirements.
• Include QA/QC costs and testing in estimates.
• Prepare bid proposals, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and handoff to project management.
• Track actual costs vs estimates and refine databases and templates.
