Job summary

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator III to prepare regular production cost estimates from customer takeoffs and architectural plans. The role involves pricing complex projects, interpreting plans and specifications, and may lead estimating for strategic accounts.

The ideal candidate has five+ years in cost estimating, strong data analysis skills, and a deep understanding of architectural metals products and processes. Office-based role with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• 2 year technical degree or related experience preferred.
• Minimum of five years of related experience required.
• Costing and pricing experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of Architectural Metals products and processes.
• High level of professionalism; self-motivated and able to multi-task.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Data analysis skills and numeracy.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and support workload decision making of Estimating I and II associates.
• Act as a technical resource across the organization.
• Evaluate RFQ/RFP with ability to interpret shop drawings and specs.
• Create formal quotes and related documents.
• Price complex, high value or high-risk projects and lead estimating for strategic accounts.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and sales as required.
• Maintain and revise cost data; prepare final estimates for management approval.
• Quote multiple brands and pricing programs as needed.
• Assist with cost optimization and bid strategy.
