Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking an experienced commercial construction estimator to manage projects from bid through contract execution, with a focus on interior tenant fit-outs and retail spaces. You will prepare estimates, review drawings, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors to define scope and cost.

The role requires strong scheduling, RFIs, and negotiation skills, proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project, and a readiness to travel.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in commercial construction.
• 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Experience with interior tenant fit-outs required.
• Retail tenant fit-out experience preferred.
• Some ground-up construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings and bid documents to identify project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive construction schedules.
• Develop and issue RFIs related to drawings and bid documents.
• Negotiate final contracts with subcontractors on scope, price and terms.
• Interact professionally with clients and subcontractors throughout the process.
• Communicate with team members and clients to keep projects moving forward.
• Utilize Procore and MS Office to support estimating and project activities.
• Travel as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Join a team where your commercial construction estimating experience, organizational skills, and ability to manage projects from bid through contract execution will contribute to successful construction projects. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator with a strong background in commercial construction, particularly interior tenant fit-outs and, preferably, retail tenant fit-outs.

Duties:

• Prepare comprehensive estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review construction drawings and bid documents to quickly identify, comprehend, and address project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive construction schedules.
• Develop and issue RFIs relating to construction drawings and bid documents.
• Negotiate final contracts with subcontractors regarding scope, pricing, and terms.
• Interact professionally and effectively with clients and subcontractors throughout the estimating and construction process.
• Communicate and over‑communicate with team members and clients to ensure alignment and keep projects moving forward.
• Utilize construction management software programs, such as Procore, to support estimating and project activities.
• Utilize Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
• Travel as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficient in working with various construction management software programs, such as Procore.
• Skilled in developing comprehensive construction schedules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to negotiate subcontractor contracts related to scope, price, and terms.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Strong ability to quickly review, comprehend, and issue RFIs related to construction drawings and bid documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Education & Experience:

• 10–15 years of experience in commercial construction.
• 8–10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Experience with interior tenant fit‑outs required.
• Retail tenant fit‑out experience preferred.
• Some ground‑up construction experience.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid work schedule.
• Position requires residence within a 50‑mile radius of the office location.
• Some travel will be required.
