6 Degrees Search is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to lead bidding and takeoffs for commercial projects, focusing on interior tenant fit-outs and retail spaces. You will review drawings, prepare estimates, and manage schedules, RFIs, and subcontractor contracts with precision.

The role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, meticulous organization, and the ability to work both independently and in a team within a hybrid environment. Travel is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in commercial construction estimating, with emphasis on interior tenant fit-outs and retail fit-outs.
• Ability to review drawings, bid documents, and develop comprehensive estimates.

Join a team where your commercial construction estimating experience, organizational skills, and ability to manage projects from bid through contract execution will contribute to successful construction projects. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator with a strong background in commercial construction, particularly interior tenant fit-outs and, preferably, retail tenant fit-outs.

Duties:

• Prepare comprehensive estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review construction drawings and bid documents to quickly identify, comprehend, and address project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive construction schedules.
• Develop and issue RFIs relating to construction drawings and bid documents.
• Negotiate final contracts with subcontractors regarding scope, pricing, and terms.
• Interact professionally and effectively with clients and subcontractors throughout the estimating and construction process.
• Communicate and over-communicate with team members and clients to ensure alignment and keep projects moving forward.
• Utilize construction management software programs, such as Procore, to support estimating and project activities.
• Utilize Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
• Travel as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in commercial construction.
• 8-10 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Experience with interior tenant fit-outs required.
• Retail tenant fit-out experience preferred.
• Some ground-up construction experience.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid work schedule.
• Position requires residence within a 50-mile radius of the office location.
• Some travel will be required.
