Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced Estimator to lead the estimating function for large, multi-trade projects. You will prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual and detailed estimates, and select materials and subcontractors for client presentations.

You will coordinate with multiple business units, delegate tasks, and ensure estimates align with project timelines. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of estimating experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and a proven track record in managing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years’ people and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Highly proficient in interpreting plans and specifications
  • Excellent Excel and Word skills
  • Excellent knowledge of QuickPen AutoBid Mechanical and Sheet Metal Estimating software
  • Ability to set deadlines and adhere to project schedules

Responsibilities

Job description

Leads estimating function for varying projects that involve multiple business functions and organizational units. Prepares preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates and detail estimates generally for larger, more complex projects with experience in multiple trades.
