Job summary

Resolute is seeking a Lead Estimator/Preconstruction professional in Chapel Hill, NC to oversee bids, oversee the turnover to Operations, and drive accurate cost planning across multiple projects. The role requires taking ownership of bid packages, mentoring estimators, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely, comprehensive proposals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bid process from lead to contract execution.
• Facilitate project turnover to the Operations Team.
• Assign responsibilities and supervise estimators.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Research items and price products via vendors.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize work.
• Define scopes and prepare subcontract bid packages.
• Present to groups in person and via conference calls.
• Procure and track relevant bid information.
• Negotiate bid prices with subcontractors and assist with buyout.
• Support other parts of the company as needed.

Lead Estimator/Preconstruction will:

• Manage the bid process beginning with receiving the lead thru the execution of the contract.
• Facilitate the project turnover to the Operations Team in an intentional, comprehensive and timely manner.
• Assign responsibilities, target areas of improvement and training, and supervise the performance of the Estimators.
• Read and gain knowledge of plans and specifications manuals.
• Research items and price products through vendors.
• Manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work.
• Define scopes of work for construction trades and prepare subcontract bid packages.
• Present to groups in person and via conference calls.
• Procure and track relevant bid information.
• Negotiate bid prices with subcontractors to include assisting Operations with the buyout.
• Demonstrate willingness to assist in other parts of the company as needed.

Requirements:

• 7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
