Job summary

Elements Massage in Sunnyvale is seeking an experienced Lead Esthetician to provide facial services at the Sunnyvale studio and travel to Campbell and San Mateo for training and mentoring.

You will lead the esthetics team, uphold service standards, grow retail sales, and help roll out new skincare services while delivering exceptional client experiences across three Bay Area locations.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an Esthetician education program.
• Current California Esthetician License with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience training or leading other estheticians preferred.
• Strong knowledge of facial treatments, skincare products, and techniques.
• Retail sales skills with ability to recommend products.
• Willingness to travel between Sunnyvale, Campbell, and San Mateo studios.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and sales-oriented Lead Esthetician to join our growing team and support our three Bay Area studios in Sunnyvale, Campbell, and San Mateo.

This exciting opportunity combines hands-on facial services at our Sunnyvale studio with training, mentoring, and supporting estheticians across all three locations.

Position Summary

As our Lead Esthetician, you will have dedicated scheduled days providing facial services at our Sunnyvale studio, while traveling to our Campbell and San Mateo locations for training and mentoring as needed.

You will play an important role in developing our esthetics team, maintaining consistent service standards, strengthening retail sales skills, and supporting the successful introduction of new skincare services and treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, customized facial and skincare services at our Sunnyvale studio.

• Train, mentor, and support estheticians across all three studio locations.

• Assist with onboarding and hands-on training of new estheticians.

• Help maintain consistency in facial treatment protocols, service quality, and client experiences.

• Support the introduction and successful rollout of new skincare treatments and services.

• Share skincare knowledge, techniques, and best practices to help estheticians develop their skills and confidence.

• Coach team members on client consultations, skincare recommendations, and retail product sales.

• Educate clients on skincare treatments, products, and appropriate home-care routines.

• Collaborate with studio management to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain high standards of professionalism, sanitation, and client care.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive compensation with separate pay rates for facial services and sit-time.

  • $20-25+ per facial (before tips).

  • $40-60+ potential earnings per facial, including tips.

  • Paid sit-time at a separate hourly rate.

  • Paid time for training and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have completed an Esthetician/Aesthetician educational program.

• Current California Esthetician License with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

• Previous experience training, mentoring, or leading other estheticians strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of facial treatments, skincare products, and professional skincare techniques.

• Proven retail sales skills and the ability to confidently recommend appropriate skincare products.

• Ability to train, mentor, motivate, and develop fellow estheticians.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Client service-oriented with a passion for creating exceptional experiences.

• High standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with studio management and coworkers.

• Passion for skincare and a commitment to continuous learning.

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Sunnyvale, Campbell, and San Mateo studios as needed.
