Cody, Cody & McCarthy LLC is a premier boutique estate planning firm seeking an experienced Estate Administration Attorney to lead probate and trust settlements in the Greater Boston area. You will independently manage complex estate matters, interact with clients, courts, and third parties, and ensure precise tax filings while delivering exceptional service.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in probate and trust settlements, Massachusetts estate tax experience, and a JD.

Qualifications

• Outstanding communication with a client-first approach.
• Highly organized, diligent, and detail oriented.
• Ability to manage a large caseload and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage estate administration, probate, and trust settlement cases from start to finish.
• Prepare and file Massachusetts estate tax returns, Federal estate tax returns, and gift tax returns (706/709).
• Prepare, review, and submit probate forms and court documents.
• Obtain date-of-death valuations and secure required documentation for estate tax returns and settlement processes.
• Oversee ongoing trust administration, handling accounting duties.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, courts, and third parties, leading meetings independently.
