Port Huron is seeking an Equipment Operator II to perform moderately difficult public works, construction and maintenance tasks involving the safe operation of heavy and specialized machinery. You will act as a group leader, assisting with water and sewer projects, traffic safety, and general equipment maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid Michigan CDL with Tanker endorsement, and Competent Person certification. Regular hours are Mon–Fri 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school.
• Competent Person qualification for trenching & shoring.
• Confined Space Certification.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver License (Operator) and a valid Michigan CDL, Group A/Air with a Tanker “N” endorsement.
• Reasonable, recent experience operating heavy automotive and/or specialized power-driven equipment.

Responsabilités

• Operate light and heavy trucks, snow plows, tractors and other power-driven equipment.
• Operate front-end loader for loading and construction tasks.
• Operate cement cutting saws, grinders, chain saws, air compressors and related tools.
• Perform sewer and water installation, maintenance and repair work.
• Record and post residential/commercial establishments for N/P and manage job site records.
