Job summary

Centerra Gold Inc. is seeking a Lead Equipment Operator for the Thompson Creek Mine in Idaho. The role focuses on safe operation of production and support equipment, supervising field crews, and coordinating work activities when the supervisor is away.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Excellent safety record.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Experience in a leadership role preferred.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
• Ability to work safely in a team and independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in diverse environments.
• Proficient in operation of production and supportive equipment.

• Knowledge of mine equipment and tools including design, repairs, uses and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate production and support equipment safely in the pit.
• Coordinate schedules and assignments in absence of supervisor.
• Promote positive employee morale through open communication.
• Support Work Safe Home Safe program.
• Assist with accident investigations and reporting.
• Train and assist with safety, procedures and equipment use.
• Help employees address job-skill deficiencies.
• May be assigned additional duties.
