Job summary

Centerra Gold is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to oversee geotechnical operations at the Thompson Creek Mine in Idaho. This role entails pit slope design, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safety and efficiency in mining operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in open-pit mining and a degree in related engineering fields. Key responsibilities include developing ground control plans and managing geotechnical investigations, while promoting a culture of safety in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer/Geologist in Idaho.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in open-pit hard-rock mining.
• Experience in managing geotechnical programs for mines.
• Knowledge of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF).
• Ability to lead investigations and field testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all geotechnical functions at the TCM site.
• Develop and maintain the Ground Control Management Plan.
• Conduct inspections and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on mine plans.
• Manage external consultants and contractors.
