Job summary

Centerra Gold Inc. in Clayton, Idaho, seeks a Lead, Equipment Operator to oversee safe production and support equipment operations at the Thompson Creek Mine. The role includes supervising crews, coordinating work, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

You will lead by example, coordinate schedules, and assist with training and incident investigations. The position requires a strong safety record, leadership experience, and the ability to work in challenging conditions at the mine site.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.

• Knowledge of mine equipment and tools, including designs, repairs, uses and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• This is a working lead tech position, wherein the primary responsibilities include safe operation of production and support equipment in the pit, and assist the Mine Operations Supervisor with supervisory tasks and responsibilities, as needed.
• Assume supervisory roles and duties in the absence of the Mine Operations Supervisor, such as coordinating schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
• Promote positive employee morale through open communication.
• Support and encourage employees to participate in the Work Safe Home Safe process.
• Assist with accident and incident investigations and prepare reports of findings, as necessary.
• Work as a team member with supervisors about work-related issues, and assist with training in safety, operational procedures, and/or equipment use.
• Assist employees with correct job-skill deficiencies.
• May be assigned other duties.
