Job summary

L3Harris Space Superiority group has an opening for a Lead, EO Systems Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, MA. The role requires coordinating technical plans, leading design and verification activities, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers relocation assistance, a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and a sign-on bonus up to $30K. A DoD Secret clearance is often required, with competitive salary and benefits in a high-security setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related scientific discipline; 9 years of space-based EO/IR systems experience; graduate degree possible with 7 years experience
• Experience as CAM and IPTL is required
• 4+ years experience in electro-optics including optical design, sensors, detectors, and imaging systems
• 4+ years experience with engineering and simulation tools such as MATLAB

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with program leadership to develop a technical plan for program execution
• Design and integrate advanced electro-optical systems for space-based applications
• Provide technical leadership in systems engineering incl. architecture, requirements analysis, and verification & validation
• Define and manage system/sub-system requirements with traceability
• Perform modeling and simulation to predict performance under various scenarios
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept to delivery
• Generate detailed technical docs: specs, designs, test plans/reports
• Translate customer needs into system requirements and evaluate designs
