Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced engineer to advance EO/IR radiometric analysis and sensor performance. You will develop budgets, run calibration and validation, and collaborate with hardware teams on detector and optics requirements.

The role requires strong MATLAB/Python skills, C/C++ programming, and a proven ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers. Secret/Top Secret clearance may be required depending on project scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field with years of experience.
• Proficiency in radiometric analysis for imaging or hyperspectral sensors.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; Able to produce technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EO/IR radiometric budgets and error-budget models.
• Perform end-to-end SNR, radiometric resolution, and calibration analyses using MATLAB/Python.
• Interface with hardware teams to define detector characteristics and processing needs.
• Support trade-off studies for detectors, optics, and data-rate constraints.
• Lead calibration/test planning and post-test data analysis for various campaigns.
• Provide technical input for schedules, risk assessments, and cost estimates.
• Prepare reports and briefings for stakeholders; mentor junior engineers.
