Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Development Lab Test Engineer to join the Prototyping and Integration Team in Los Angeles area. You will lead environmental and reliability test campaigns for OISL hardware, owning the execution across thermal, TVac, vibration, HALT/HASS, and related tests.

You will mentor technicians, translate test requirements into procedures, and generate run notes and test reports to ensure qualification to high standards and on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent field.
• 4+ years in hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment.
• Experience operating environmental test equipment including thermal and vacuum chambers, vibration systems, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent test campaigns, coordinating resources and schedules in a lab environment.
• Experience analyzing post-test data, writing test reports, and performing root cause analysis on test failures.

Responsibilities

• Operate as the technical authority on environmental test execution, ensuring tests follow plans, standards, and work instructions.
• Manage multiple concurrent test campaigns, coordinating resources and schedules to maintain velocity.
• Operate environmental test equipment including thermal/vacuum chambers, vibration tables, and data acquisition; oversee test console operations.
• Mentor and lead a team of test technicians, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Review test plans and translate requirements into execution procedures and work instructions.
• Generate test reports and detailed run notes for post-test data processing.
• Drive continuous improvement of environmental test processes for throughput and transition to production qualification.
