Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Lab Engineer to join the Avionics Development team in Redmond, WA. This hands-on role focuses on designing, building, operating, and maintaining satellite hardware labs to scale development efforts.

You will own facilities requirements, deploy pilot equipment, and support multiple satellite hardware teams with scalable lab infrastructure in a fast-paced space tech environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance, or hands-on engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and SOPs.
• Experience developing operational processes and technologies.
• Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Experience with design & innovation and research & development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with building designers, architects, and construction firms to design new (or retrofit existing) lab facilities
• Collaborate with different satellite hardware development teams to collect facility and equipment requirements
• Select, procure, and deploy complex pilot plant and test equipment needed to develop, build, and test state-of-the-art satellite avionics.
• Create standard operating procedures to operate, maintain, and upgrade complex systems that develop, qualify, and validate satellite hardware prototypes
• Draft narratives to decision makers and create operational reports tracking key-performance-indicators
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and vendors that contribute to the hardware development life cycle
