Job summary

Lead Environmental Service Aide at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD, is a day shift role within Trinity Health. The position leads housekeeping activities, ensures quality of Environmental Services, and supports patients, visitors, and staff with courteous, safe service.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of environmental services experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read and follow written instructions in English.

  • Able to work independently and safely with tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Environmental Service Aide oversees housekeeping tasks and ensures quality across the department.
  • Provide timely, courteous, and competent services in a safe manner for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Accept additional assignments to support service excellence.
  • May receive guidance from the Nursing Department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Lead Environmental Service Aide

Employment Type: Full - Time

Shift: Day - 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (with every other weekend rotation)

Location: Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD

Position Purpose
  • The Lead Environmental Service Aide (housekeeping) performs, assists in assignment of, and ensures quality of housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department.

As a “Lead Environmental Service Aide” you will:
  • Lead Environmental Service Aide is guided by basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, operation and use of department equipment and supplies.

  • Responsible for the timely, courteous, and competent services rendered in a safe manner for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

  • Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

  • May also be assigned at times to receive guidance and instruction from the Nursing Department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required

  • Knowledge:Ability to read and comprehend instructions in writing and orally.

  • Skills: Ability to read and write information in English regarding Duty list, Instructional information, and policies and procedures.

  • Ability to use alphanumeric pager and telephone.

  • Customer service core competencies for ability to deal directly with patients, their families, visitors, and hospital staff. Able to work independently.

  • Experience:2 to 4 years of environmental services experience required.

  • Equipment:Good physical condition and a general ability to work with hand and power tools

  • Able to work independently.

Pay Range: $18.11 - $25.35

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
