The candidate will prepare health and ecological risk assessments, review studies, and guide junior staff while coordinating with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in toxicology, environmental science, public health, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years of work experience in environmental consulting or regulatory settings on DoD or EPA projects.
  • Experience implementing EPA Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund and/or Ecological Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund.
  • Working knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulations and related state requirements.
  • Ability to present technical information to scientific, regulatory, and public audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and travel as needed.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze large environmental datasets.
  • Prepare tables, figures, and data exhibits.
  • Author risk assessments, risk assessment work plans, and technical deliverables.
  • Review and interpret environmental and toxicological studies and reports.
  • Support remedial strategy design, including development of risk-based cleanup levels.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and compare background data to site data.
  • Serve as project risk assessor in meetings with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and provide technical direction to junior staff.
