Job summary

Terracon in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced environmental engineer to support the FDEP Waste Cleanup Program. Responsibilities include leading site assessments, remedial design, and regulatory reporting to achieve closure objectives.

You will coordinate with clients, regulators, and field teams, perform field oversight, and prepare SARs, RAPs, LSAs, and related documents. A bachelor's in environmental/civil engineering and 5–8 years' experience are required; master's preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related degree.
• Minimum 5-8 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering, environmental consulting, and project management services in support of the FDEP Waste Cleanup Program.
• Conduct and lead environmental site assessments and investigations at petroleum, drycleaning, and hazardous waste contamination sites.
• Develop cost‑effective remediation strategies and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Design and oversee remediation systems including soil excavation, groundwater treatment, and monitored natural attenuation.
• Perform field oversight including soil and groundwater sampling and monitoring well installation.
• Mentor junior staff and may serve as team lead on medium projects.
