Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental science or related field.
• Experience in supervisory/managerial capacity recommended.
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and how to apply them.
• Ability to communicate effectively with local, state, and federal groups in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental programs within IDEM and manage cross‑functional teams.
• Oversee State Implementation Plan development and regulatory compliance with the U.S. EPA.
• Provide technical guidance to regulated communities and government officials on environmental regulations and program implementation.
• Coordinate outreach and develop staff competencies across air, water, and waste permitting and monitoring.
