Job summary

Qualifications
- Three years of journey-level experience as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).
- California REHS certification in good standing is required.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites within San Mateo County for inspections and investigations.
Responsibilities
- Provide lead direction, training, and review of assigned staff and projects.
- Serve as technical expert in Solid Waste and Body Art programs and review/approve related documents.
- Conduct inspections of solid waste facilities and body art establishments; oversee permitting processes.
- Investigate complaints, coordinate with agencies and community groups, and draft recommendations.
- Develop inspection procedures, compile data, and prepare reports or guidelines; may testify as an expert witness.
