Job summary

LCG is seeking a Lead / Principal Enterprise Architect in Rockville, MD to define the technology roadmap for a complex application portfolio, including 10+ years of Java/.NET production systems. The role focuses on enterprise architecture, modernization, integration, and hybrid cloud solutions, partnering with executives and vendors to translate vision into designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in enterprise or solution architecture.
• Deep hands-on experience with Java and .NET application design for long-lived codebases.
• Experience with Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
• Hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate a multi-year enterprise architecture roadmap aligned to business strategy and modernization goals.
• Assess current-state architecture across Java/.NET, COTS, Oracle, and on-prem/cloud infrastructure to identify debt and modernization opportunities.
• Define target-state architectures and phased modernization approaches for legacy systems based on value, risk, and cost.
• Evaluate technology stacks and advise on staying on current technologies or transitioning to newer patterns.
• Build and maintain an inventory of technology assets, dependencies, and risk ratings to support decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI capabilities, and identify practical adoption opportunities.
