Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sr. Integration Architect to join the National Integration Services team.

The role focuses on enabling a distributed API Management Platform and requires leadership, clear communication, and deep expertise in API development and secure integration patterns. You will design enterprise-wide integration solutions, guide API design standards, and collaborate across business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in software design and development; 4+ years in enterprise integration architecture.
• Hands-on with API gateways and tools: MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong.
• Expert in REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP; OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-wide API management, middleware, and backend integration strategy.
• Design end-to-end integration flows using EIP for synchronous/asynchronous processes.
• Enforce standards for API design, security, and catalog discovery across units.
• Architect secure integration patterns with identity protocols and encryption.
• Monitor and optimize high-throughput brokers and API gateway topologies.
• Collaborate with Lines of Businesses to implement integrations.
• Support MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway platforms.
• Foster cross-organizational relationships across IT and the FRB.
