Job summary

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando, FL seeks an Engineering Technician III to perform advanced maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and pool operations. You will lead projects and deliver exceptional guest service in a dynamic resort environment.

This role requires hands-on trade skills, EPA HVAC and CPO certifications, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. Westgate promotes safety, integrity, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on engineering, maintenance, or skilled trades experience in a resort, hospitality, or commercial environment.
  • Universal EPA HVAC Certification required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects, preventative maintenance, guest service requests, and resort improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform advanced carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, tile, and finish repairs.
  • Maintain pools, spas, and water features, including equipment repairs and water chemistry.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications to complete repairs accurately.
  • Utilize maintenance management software to manage work orders and daily operations.
  • Assist with procurement, inventory management, and ensuring tools and materials are available for assigned projects.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment while following all safety procedures.
  • Identify safety hazards, maintain compliance with company policies, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, team members, vendors, and leadership to resolve maintenance concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
