Job summary

Notion's Search & Context Platform powers 100M+ users and agents. As Engineering Manager for this team, you will lead a technically deep group building platform systems used by multiple product teams.

You will set the technical direction, manage the platform scope for customers, and make hard tradeoffs to move fast while keeping the platform sustainable, reliable, and secure. You will hire and coach engineers, contribute to Notion's broader engineering practices, and ensure the platform scales

Qualifications

4+ years of leading engineering teams delivering high-quality systems.
Experience with search, retrieval, or large-scale data/indexing systems.
Product management experience for platform or infrastructure scope.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing platform team responsible for search infrastructure, indexing, retrieval, and context primitives.
Set a clear roadmap balancing latency, cost, reliability, scalability, and security.
Maintain a high reliability bar with SLAs, observability, on-call health, and post-mortems.
Collaborate with the Search & Context product team, AI team, and other platform consumers.
Anticipate customer needs, invest in capacity and primitives to accelerate product velocity.
Hire, coach, and grow engineers while maintaining an environment for strong ICs to excel.
Contribute to Notion's engineering practices around platform design and infrastructure.
