Job summary

Notion is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Search & Context Platform. You’ll lead a technically deep team building the retrieval, indexing, and context primitives that power Notion's agents and enterprise users.

You’ll set technical direction, manage platform scope for internal customers, and trade off speed, reliability, and security to accelerate product velocity while keeping the platform sustainable.

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong depth in search, retrieval, or large-scale data systems.
• Experience shipping platform/infrastructure for enterprise-ready products.
• Proven ability to manage SLAs, roadmaps, and internal customer priorities.
• Ability to translate between product and AI teams and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing platform team responsible for search infrastructure (lexical & semantic), indexing, and context/memory primitives.
• Set a roadmap balancing foundational platform investments with indexing and context capabilities for agents.
• Maintain high reliability with SLOs, observability, on-call health, and incident post-mortems.
• Collaborate with the Search & Context product team, AI team, and other platform consumers on interfaces and commitments.
• Anticipate customer needs, invest in capacity and primitives, and accelerate product velocity.
• Hire, coach, and build a strong technical team; foster growth and excellence.
• Contribute to Notion's engineering practices around platform design, reliability, and AI-era infrastructure.
