Job summary

The United Illuminating Company, part of Avangrid, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the repair, replacement, maintenance, and new construction of the electric distribution infrastructure. You will guide power system analyses and engineering calculations to ensure reliability and customer satisfaction.

You will promote safety, teamwork, and efficiency while coordinating with Sr Manager and other departments to meet corporate goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the power industry
• Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination
• Professional Engineer license is desired

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical guidance to direct and monitor the performance of an engineering team.
• Review or oversee design concepts, alternate solutions, and action plans for distribution system improvements.
• Set clear expectations aligned with the corporate plan; solve complex problems in the distribution system.
• Evaluate results and be accountable for engineers' performance.
• Promote cross-functional teamwork on tasks and projects.
• Follow safety, ethics and performance policies and procedures.
