Job summary

BlueScope North America is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide project coordination and structural design services. The role leads the design engineers and collaborates with project teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

You will supervise and mentor the design team, develop advanced product knowledge, and support department objectives while maintaining strong customer relationships. A Bachelor of Science in Engineering and PE registration are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering registration required.
• 6 years of engineering experience.
• 2 years on complex multi-unit projects.
• Solid knowledge of building codes.
• Knowledgeable in steel design.
• Experience developing and managing strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Uses engineering systems and drawings to provide project coordination and structural design services.
• Models for customers and coordinates and leads design engineers.
• Provides technical leadership to the design team and mentors staff.
• Develops and monitors standard processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborates with project teams to solve problems and move projects forward.
• Delivers designs that meet customer requirements and safety standards.
