The Anywhere Real Estate Core Capabilities API Engineering team develops reusable, enterprise APIs used by internal and external teams to build real estate software. We seek a Lead API Engineer with proven experience in developing cloud-native API applications using Node.js, MongoDB, AWS, CI/CD, and test automation. This senior role requires excellent technical skills, as well as strong delivery, collaboration, leadership, communication, and documentation abilities. Full-stack experience is preferred but not required.

Job Summary

The team develops enterprise capability APIs for rapid software development and deployment. The role involves senior-level coding, technical leadership, and collaboration to deliver scalable solutions aligned with strategic goals.

What You’ll Do

• Develop flexible, scalable, and resilient software solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with technical strategy, standards, and methodologies.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Promote automation in product delivery and support.
• Analyze, design, and validate solutions.
• Identify and implement improvements.
• Work with Product Team to refine business requirements.
• Deliver solutions meeting business needs and satisfaction criteria.
• Build relationships within the organization to support team goals.
• Provide leadership, strategic insights, and clear communication.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• 9+ years of experience in Agile development.
• 5+ years in Node.js developing microservices and RESTful APIs.
• 5+ years developing cloud-native applications with AWS services.
• 3+ years in MongoDB development.
• 3+ years scripting CI/CD pipelines and using DevOps tools.
• 3+ years in test automation tools like Cypress.
• 2+ years with AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
• Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills, tailored to the audience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points

• 5+ years experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
• Experience with UI/UX design feasibility.
• Experience translating web and mobile designs into code.
