Job summary

Dutch Bros Coffee seeks a Lead Engineer – Shop Technology in Tempe to own design, development, and reliability of shop operations tech. This hands-on role covers POS, payments, labor systems, and mobile/shop applications, driving APIs, integrations, and automation.

You will lead technical delivery, code reviews, and partner with Product, Operations, and vendors to improve observability, testing, and incident response. In-office 4 days/week with optional remote Fridays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on development with modern languages.
• Experience designing and supporting APIs and integrations.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD familiarity.
• Observability, production support, and secure design practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production-quality software components, integrations, APIs, and automation.
• Own features and integrations from requirements through production support.
• Perform code reviews and provide actionable feedback.
• Build and maintain reusable components and patterns for Shop Technology.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, Monitoring, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Vendors to improve shop tech.
