Job summary

Alo yoga is seeking a Lead Engineer, Platform Engineering to own architecture and drive initiatives for our Ecommerce platform powering US and international customers. You will lead a team of engineers, contribute hands-on development, and shape performance, scalability, and reliability across web, mobile web, and native apps.

OVERVIEW

The Ecommerce Engineering Team is responsible for providing a scalable, highly performant platform to power all Ecommerce experiences for US and International customers. Our Ecommerce experience reaches millions of Aloyoga customers through various channels with majority of interactions on Mobile web browsers primarily on Safari and Chrome. Our services powers our most loyal customers using our Native iOS App.

As Lead Engineer, Platform Engineering you will be responsible for driving initiatives as Technical owner, alignment, architecture and execution of Ecommerce Technology’s unique problem space. As a Senior team member, you will take ownership and responsibility of the work done by other team members. All Software Engineers are expected to be hands‑on and contribute code and be involved in architecture/design.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of web development experience, building, leading and architecting digital products & services, micro services and distributed systems.
• Proficient with event driven architecture. Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client‑side vs server‑side performance considerations.
• Experience with major cloud providers – AWS, GCP.
• Proficient with front‑end technologies – ReactJS/Redux, HTML5. CSS3, Web Pixels
• DevOps expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, logging, telemetry, monitoring, alerting and proven track record of troubleshooting production issues.
• Ability to break complex things into small, simpler building blocks to ensure continuous delivery.
• Attention to detail, curious to learn, competitive to collaborate and win and have fun taking on challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non‑technical partners.

Desired Skills

• Experience with ecommerce platforms like BigCommerce, Commerce tools, Shopify
• Integration experience with incorporating third party products/vendors
• Experience with architecture and design to optimize performance with edge computing, CDNs, browser caching, incremental rendering to build blazing fast ecommerce sites.

The base salary range for this position is $200,000-$220,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed‑upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
