Job summary

KPMG LLP seeks a Lead Engineer I for its Tax Ignition Team. You will translate business needs into AI‑powered features, architect scalable microservices, and develop client‑facing apps using Angular, TypeScript, Python, or C# on Azure.

You will deploy, monitor, and scale solutions, integrate LLMs, and ensure secure data handling. Strong leadership, communications and five years of software experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of software development experience and systems architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred; Master's desired.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization.
• Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C#, Angular, SQL and Azure preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn) preferred.

• Collaborate with product owners and data scientists to translate business needs into AI‑powered features and APIs
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for model inference (on Azure or similar)
• Build and maintain client‑facing web apps in Angular + TypeScript, Python or .NET Framework/C# backend services and APIs, secure SQL databases (T‑SQL, schema design, stored procs)
• Leverage Azure services (App Services, Functions, SQL Database, DevOps) for deployment, scaling and monitoring
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services (such as Azure OpenAI, Custom Models Serving) into our front‑end and back‑end systems
• Act with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of recent experience in software development and systems architecture
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering or related field is preferred; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is desired
• Solid understanding of software engineering such as microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization
