Job summary

Valmet in Bedford, NH is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive energy and recovery engineering projects from concept through delivery. You will lead design activities, ensure customer requirements and Valmet standards are met, and collaborate with Product, Field Service, Sales and Project teams globally.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, production drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and proactive problem solving. Some travel to customer sites (20–30%) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years in design, layout, or stress engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for production drawings.
• Experience in the Pulp & Power industry (recovery boilers, power boilers).
• Experience leading projects and global design teams.
• Field measurements and installation modification support.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer support at job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering activities with focus on HSE and equipment design.
• Execute projects to meet customer and Valmet requirements.
• Coordinate global resources, schedules, and engineering activities.
• Develop and review production drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Promote engineering tooling adoption and process improvements.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support customer and internal design/troubleshooting presentations.
• Provide technical support for site service projects and field resolution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable design and safety standards.
• Travel to customer sites 20–30% for execution and data collection.
