Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Lead Engineer in Charlotte, NC to drive engineering projects in the Energy & Recovery Engineering team. You will lead design activities, coordinate with product, field service, sales, and global engineering teams, and ensure compliance with customer requirements and Valmet standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in design, layout, or stress engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for production‑level drawings
  • Strong experience in the Pulp & Power industry, specifically: Recovery boilers, Power boilers, Evaporator experience is a plus)
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage designers globally
  • Experience performing field measurements and supporting installation modifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support customer needs at job sites

About the Role

Join Valmet’s team of experts and contribute to delivering world‑class solutions as a Lead Engineer in our Energy & Recovery Engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional who thrives on leading projects, solving complex engineering challenges, and collaborating across global teams.

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for executing engineering projects to ensure equipment design meets both customer requirements and Valmet standards. You will work closely with Product teams, Field Service, Sales, Global Engineering, and Project Management teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
