Job summary
BlueLinx Corporation in Marietta, GA is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer to lead structural design projects involving wood I-joists, engineered wood products, and building code compliance. This role requires 5-7+ years of experience and an ability to work across design teams and construction stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering (MS/MA/MBA a plus), proficiency with blueprint reading and Excel, and will contribute to training and technical bulletins while
Qualifications
- Engineering degree required; P.E. license preferred.
- BS in Engineering; advanced degrees a plus.
- Experience with wood construction design and codes.
Responsibilities
- Understands company vision and sets individual performance goals.
- Provides sealed calculations, repairs, and single member sizing.
- Guides design issues with Plan Services.
- Assists with claims related to Technical Services and Engineered Wood Products.
- Ensures compliance with building codes and standards.
- Oversees development of technical bulletins, details, specs, installation literature, and training.
- Monitors product capacities and reviews QC testing procedures.
- Liaises with software providers and oversees design software maintenance.
- Facilitates training sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
