Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer to provide technical leadership in its Distribution group. The role involves supervising a subset of the team, reviewing designs for regulatory compliance, and mentoring staff while coordinating tasks to maximize utilization.

Based in multiple US locations including Las Vegas, NV, the position requires travel and interaction with clients and regulatory bodies. A BS Engineering degree with 6+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering Degree and 6+ years of distribution engineering experience.
• Knowledge of NESC and other applicable codes and standards.
• Strong computer and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and operate client provided programs and systems.
• Proven history of successfully attaining results in a production environment.
• Ability to travel up to 20-25% of the time to client sites for meetings.

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualusin our Distribution department as a Lead Distribution Engineer. The Lead Distribution Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to all members of the Distribution group.

This position may be based in Lake Mary, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Las Vegas, NV, Boise, ID; Raleigh, NC; or Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of electrical distribution system design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Supports the Design Engineering Manager by handling some of the supervisory and management tasks for a smaller subset of the team.
• Problem identification and resolution.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and effectively manage workloads for assigned team members.
• Coordinate task assignments to maximize staff utilization.
• Review of completed designs and design products to ensure compliance with client, industry, and regulatory requirements.
• Review of design products to ensure compliance with quality and consistency expectations.
• Ability to apply client, industry and regulatory standards and requirements to existing distribution system components.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal, client and regulatory counterparts.
• Ability to maintain production in a changing environment.
• Identify and promote training opportunities.
• Provides support to recruiting including interviews and attendance at college career fairs.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS Engineering Degree and 6+ years of distribution engineering experience.
