Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Lead Engineer to design advanced building systems, coordinate multi-discipline teams, and mentor staff. You’ll oversee design development from concept through construction, review drawings, and engage in business development and client relations to ensure project success.

The role requires a PE license (or active path to licensure), a strong background in engineering design, and proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 9 years of relevant experience or 10 years with high school diploma or equivalent.
• PE license required and may be counted toward 1 year of relevant experience.
• Completion of FE exam preferred.
• Certifications and accreditations aligned with sustainability backgrounds (e.g., CDP, LEED, WELL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs the preparation of design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Leads project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Mentors less experienced designers and engineers; oversees staff as needed.
• Performs project management activities: coordinating scope, schedule, and client communications.
