Job summary

ABM in Las Vegas is seeking a Lead Engineer to supervise mechanical, electrical and craft services across multiple properties. You will lead a working group, assign tickets, track tasks, and ensure high-quality preventive maintenance and safety compliance.

This role requires hands-on leadership and cross-site coordination. Responsibilities include managing tickets, vendor scheduling, and staff training while maintaining energy-efficient operation of HVAC, water and electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising mechanical, electrical and craft services.
  • Ability to develop and assign work tickets with clear scope and priority.
  • Knowledge of safety standards including LOTO and PPE requirements.
  • Proven ability to train personnel on operating procedures.
  • Strong coordination with vendors and multiple property sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate maintenance teams across properties.
  • Develop and assign work tickets; ensure timely completion and quality.
  • Enforce safety regulations and conduct periodic inspections.
  • Train staff on procedures and operate PM programs.
  • Monitor HVAC, water, electrical systems and energy performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and on-site scheduling of services.
  • Maintain boiler, pumps, valves and water distribution equipment.

BASIC FUNCTION

Lead Engineer is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all activities concerning the general operation and maintenance work of mechanical, electrical and craft services. Function as a working group leader in these areas.

Pay

$34.41/hour (hourly rate may vary based on experience, skills, location, and market data).

Responsibilities
  • Team Management (Multiple Properties).
  • Develop and assign work tickets for each team member, ensuring tasks are clearly scoped, prioritized, and completed on time.
  • Supporting and proving team while conducting special work assignments.
  • Adhere to quality levels and standard practices for all work performed.
  • Assist in training personnel in proper operating procedures and techniques.
  • Enforce all applicable safety regulations including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, confined space entry, and hot work permits.
  • Conduct regular inspections across all assigned properties to verify work quality and identify maintenance deficiencies.
  • Operate to support team efforts regarding maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Possess adequate license requirements for the facility.
  • Overall responsibility for the following functions and tasks:
    • Monitoring of:
      • HVAC Systems
      • Water Treatment Procedures
      • Electrical Equipment
  • Implementation and management of:
    • Operational Manuals and Logs
    • The Safety Program
    • The Inventory Control Program
    • The Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Coordination of:
    • Work Order Procedures
    • Vendors
    • The Formal Training Program
    • Maintain life safety and security systems.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by building management.
  • Team management (which includes multiple locations) daily stand-up, create schedules, track PTO, training, call-offs, provide direction and/or prioritization of tasks.
  • Ticket system – monitoring tickets and providing metrics to client.
  • Sourcing – vendors, plumbing and misc. repair parts.
  • Vendors – on-site contact and scheduling of maintenance agreement services.
  • Computer skills – Outlook, Microsoft, Teams and Service Now (or other ticket system).
  • Maintain all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
  • Maintain water filters, softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks, toilet bowls, supply lines, drains and water lines.
  • Operate, maintain and repair all types of electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans.
  • Maintain lighting maintenance.
  • Work with vendor to maintain proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls based on seasonal conditions to ensure energy efficient operation.
  • Maintain all equipment as required per the Preventive Maintenance Program. Preventive Maintenance Program will be scheduled to meet the manufacturer’s required service specifications.
