Job summary

Willis Lease is seeking a seasoned project manager to oversee engine lease returns, shop visits, and purchases. The role interfaces with customers, MROs, and internal teams to ensure FAA/EASA compliance and timely, cost-effective outcomes.

The incumbent will travel globally, manage data and records, and drive repairs and test-cell activities to completion, while maintaining strict adherence to industry standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • A&P license preferred; minimum 'P' license required.
  • 5+ years of airline and/or engine shop experience.
  • Experience with CFM56 Series, LEAP-1A/1B, GEnx, GE90, PW4000 94" and 100", CF6-80, CF34 Series, and IAE V2500-A5 engine models.
  • Strong background in engine records.
  • Knowledge of Life Limited Parts status reports (Chapter 5).
  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Directive status reports.
  • Test cell experience required.
  • Engine repair and overhaul experience required.
  • Borescope experience required.
  • Ability to travel on short notice, for extended periods, and globally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with different levels of management and cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall project management for Willis Lease during lease engine returns, engine shop visits, and engine purchases.
  • Ensure engines meet FAA, EASA, and Willis Lease requirements.
  • Serve as the main interface between customers, MROs, and Willis Lease during lease returns.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the lease return process with internal and external customers.
  • Travel to engine and/or records locations as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Willis Lease Contracts, customers, MROs, and Technical Records to facilitate engine lease returns.
  • Act as primary customer contact, including coordinating customer on-site and MRO visits.
  • Establish secondary Willis Lease points of contact for customers.
  • Apply Technical Department Procedures to lease returns at remote locations.
  • Ensure lease-return work is complete and compliant.
  • Attend or delegate test-cell runs and on-wing tests.
  • Coordinate resolution of engine performance issues.
  • Attend or delegate post-test borescope inspections and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform or delegate detailed end-of-lease engine inventories.
  • Obtain certification for installed units and coordinate replacement of missing parts.
  • Review and copy customer and MRO data generated during lease returns.
  • Prepare shop-visit work scopes and obtain MRO cost estimates.
  • Provide required data to MROs.
  • Manage repairs for work-scope compliance and cost effectiveness.
  • Review invoices and manage disputes.
  • Dispose of unserviceable material.
  • Ensure engines are properly packaged for shipment.
  • Support other technical functions for the company portfolio.
  • Attend industry conferences to stay current on engine programs.
