Job summary

Resource Innovations is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our Iowa team. You will conduct energy audits and retro-commissioning studies for commercial and industrial clients, develop technical analyses, and support energy-efficiency programs.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree with 5+ years in energy efficiency, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Des Moines area, on-site with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 5+ years in energy efficiency or building efficiency industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, thermal and fluid systems, motors, lighting, and related building systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines/budgets.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to commercial and industrial clients, utilities, and program staff.
• Perform energy audits and retro-commissioning studies to identify, measure, and verify energy efficiency measures.
• Develop and maintain technical analysis/calculators for energy efficiency measures.
• Provide timely technical feedback, set expectations, and deliver what you promise.
• Support utility programs to achieve energy savings goals.
