Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Technical Lead Software Engineer in Tulsa, OK. The role focuses on leading technical contributions for sonar technology on embedded platforms, driving advancements, and guiding major projects using languages like C, C++, C#, Java and Assembly.

You will mentor engineers and collaborate with vendors to integrate external deliverables while shaping software architecture and development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination
• GPA 3.0+ as a general rule
• Lead software engineer experience in new markets or technologies
• Architecting solutions across multiple groups or disciplines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, team-oriented and self-starter with ability to lead under deadlines

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sonar technology solutions for embedded platforms
• Investigate and validate new technology solutions to drive advancements
• Generate software requirements and designs per Garmin's SDLC
• Provide key technical contributions in C, C++, C#, Java, Assembly or other languages
• Lead projects in new markets or with new technologies
• Mentor junior engineers (Software Engineer 1/2/Senior)
• Work with vendors to integrate external deliverables
• Evaluate new tech and propose improvements
• Propose process improvements and new procedures
• Define approaches and solve technical problems
• Apply technical expertise to resolve complex tasks
• Take concepts to practice with creativity and ingenuity
