Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Melbourne, FL, is seeking a Lead, Software Engineer to guide embedded software development across the full lifecycle for Modems, RF Transmission, and Satellite Communication Systems in a real-time, multi-threaded environment.

You will lead teams, collaborate with Systems, Electrical/Firmware, and RF engineers, perform design, coding, debugging, and documentation, and support bids and proposals while targeting coding protocols and technical specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of relevant experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of related experience.
• 7+ years of C/C++ embedded software development experience.
• EVMS/CAM experience.
• Inter-process communication and multi-threaded programming experience.
• Experience with Atlassian tool suite.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology.
• Proficiency in C++, C software development in a multi-threaded Windows or Linux environment.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Experience with real-time Linux development.
• Experience with CMake.
• Experience with Wireshark and ability to analyze network traffic.
• Experience in cross-functional software support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the design and implementation of embedded software solutions through the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit tests, and maintenance.
• Provide technical support for bid/proposal efforts.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare and present briefings/workshops for engineers, management, customers, and internal groups.
• Communicate status, milestones, and risks to program teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile software planning and development.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical/Firmware, and RF engineers to meet customer requirements.
• Cost account management.
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
