Job summary

Glassboard is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to own firmware direction from concept to commercialization. You will manage a team of embedded software engineers, own client relationships at a strategic level, and collaborate with hardware and product teams.

The role reports to the CTO and requires hands-on development in C, with strong emphasis on performance, scalability, and hardware integration within a fast-paced studio in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in engineering or product development with people management experience.
• Bachelor-level degree in EE/CE/CET or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in consumer/medical/industrial product development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee embedded software practices and coding standards across the team.
• Drive real-time firmware development with tight hardware integration.
• Translate customer requirements into technical specs for programs.
• Lead client communications, scoping, timelines, and program financials.
• Mentor and develop a team of embedded software engineers.
• Partner with leadership on hiring and performance reviews.
