Job summary

Hayward Holdings Inc. is seeking a senior embedded firmware architect to lead design and development of complex firmware across multiple embedded platforms. You will guide cross‑functional teams in hardware integration, reliability, and regulatory compliance while shaping the firmware architecture and ensuring scalable, maintainable code.

The candidate will mentor engineers, drive bring‑up, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure successful deployment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 10+ years embedded firmware development experience.
• 3+ years leading firmware architecture across teams.
• Expert-level development in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Strong RTOS concepts and real-time systems knowledge.
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-485 protocols.
• Hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, HW/SW integration.
• Proficiency with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of safety, EMC, and regulatory compliance for embedded products.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
• Serve as the technical lead and architect for firmware and embedded software subsystems.
• Design and develop complex embedded firmware systems with scalability and reliability.
• Drive firmware architecture decisions including task scheduling and HALs.
• Hands-on firmware development with hardware integration and optimization.
• Lead system bring-up and hardware/software integration for new platforms.
• Coordinate firmware activities across hardware, reliability, testing, compliance and manufacturing.
• Ensure products meet reliability, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and suppliers for deployment.
• Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans with concise status reporting.
